Hey there, you amazing human, and welcome back to another awesome podcast episode with me, your host, Ange from Angela Henderson Consulting. So today I want to share with you one simple strategy that yielded me $39,000 with three clients signing. All right, it’s super simple. In fact, I’ve talked about it on this podcast before, but more often than not, people do not do this strategy and I’ll explain why in a minute. So I’ll give you some context. Prior to Christmas, I had 10 potential leads who wanted to work with me in obviously upcoming 2025, but for multiple reasons. Someone had like an elderly parent who was sick. There was school, holidays, there was Christ. Money was tight. There was a variety of different things that were going on for these particular potential 10 clients.

However, I made a specific note in my diary to follow back up with them in early gen. I noted down why they had said they weren’t able to work with me at that time. So that again, I had some context to go back to them on and I just popped it in my diary. And so and how I do that is I literally when I say diary is I put it in my Outlook calendar. But I also will send myself a reminder email. So let’s go info@angela anderson.com follow up on these 10 clients and then I list to all of those little notes for each of those Clients that I did. And lo and behold, about 10 days ago from time of recording, no, we’re probably about 12 days now from time of this recording going live.

I reached out to those 10amazing women in business and said, hey, you know, I know you were interested in working with me. How was your Christmas? Did everything get fixed or remedied with your, say, aging parent? Or did school holidays go okay? Do you feel less pressure? Whatever it was that those particular individuals had talked to me about? And then I said, hey, I just wanted to follow up. Are you still interested in working with me? Because. Because as per our discovery call where we identified these gaps, I see some really great potential for you for growth in 2025. And of those 10 potential leads that I had three people converted to $39,000 in sales. And I say sales because that doesn’t mean that all that money hit my account. So that’s not cash, that is sales.

But throughout the year, that money will then hit my account. Now, this simple strategy is this. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again. The fortune is in the follow up. We live in a fast paced world where everyone is so consumed about their needs, their wants, their goals that they forget about things like, hey, I do want to work with Angela, or hey, I would like to collaborate with you, or hey, let’s do a podcast swap. So it is our responsibility because nobody is coming to save us, to ensure that we have a system in place to follow up. Prior to recording this podcast, I had three discovery calls earlier this week for potential new clients. One has converted. Two is meeting with another particular person that they want to work with.

They’re not sure if they want a business coach, if they want a marketing person, so they’re having another call and the other person I haven’t heard anything back from. So what did I do? It’s marked in my calendar. I then have an email that was sent to me this morning to remind me to follow up with that particular person and say, hey, wanted to make sure you don’t have any further questions. Would love to be able to help you on X, Y and Z. The fortune is in the follow up. So I want you to think about where are you leaving money on the table and how can you add this simple strategy into your day? And yes, I say day, before I do anything else in my business, I say I try almost every day.

Sometimes kids, illness, whatever get in the way, but I try almost every day to do follow ups. And my list can be extensive because I’VE got right now six people that want to do a collaboration with me. So again I’ve got noted the days that I need a follow up. What we need to work out, that follow up is on me. I’ve got people who want to do podcast swaps. I need a follow up to arrange times and dates for both of us to do the recordings. I have follow up from people who are potential leads discovery calls. I have people who have asked inside of my Facebook group, the Women in Business Collaborative to be able for me to hop on and answer some questions for them.

So you can see that again there are multiple ways to grow my business this year through podcasting, collaborations, lead gen, etc. That if I didn’t follow up, more than likely these other people won’t either. It doesn’t mean that they don’t want to work with me. It doesn’t mean that they have forgotten about me. It just means that something else has taken priority and they forgotten what matters. And when I say what forgotten what matters to them now because what matters change every single day, every single hour. So this strategy, the fortune is in the follow up is the reason why I had 33 speaking engagements last year, is the reason why I run Australia’s Women in Business Collaborative. And I’m able to sell out those tickets because I follow up. I follow up. I follow up.

I follow up with speakers, I follow up people with attendees, I follow up with our sponsors. I follow up. It doesn’t cost you anything to follow up. It costs you time. But I will use that time every single day because conversions happen all the time.
