Now today I want to talk about a strategy that has proven to be incredibly effective for my business. You might be wondering, well, what is that, Ang? That is giveaways. Yes, you heard that right. Giveaways. But not just any giveaways. I’m talking about well planned targeted giveaways that are creating a buzz, attracting the right audience in driving engagement, but also dun dun, helping with overall conversion and increase in revenue. A few months ago I realized that while my audience has been growing at a great and stable rate through partnerships, Facebook ads, et cetera, I’ always about exploring and testing other things. So I wanted to try a more dynamic way to engage with my audience and expand my reach.

And that’s when I was like, I put my thinking hat on and I was like, Ange, what have you done in the past? What’s work? What haven’t you tested in a while? And that’s when I decided to go back and experiment with giveaways. Now I used to do giveaways with my first business, Finley and Me, and where we focus on creating childhood memories through play, love and travel. It was one of Australia’s leading e Comm educational toy stores for kids and we used to do giveaways back then and we would give Thermomixes away because that was our target audience and we would get thousands upon thousands of people and it would just significantly impact positively the growth of my business. So it’s like, why haven’t I done giveaways in a while in regards to this business?

So that’s when I was like, I’m going to go back to giveaways. And that’s what I’ve been doing over the last kind of, I don’t know, 12 months or so. And I’m going to explain to you what giveaways I’ve done. So let me take you through how I structured these giveaways and the incredible results that they have yielded. Now, first, I knew the success of any giveaway hinges on the prize. It has to be something that my target audience would find valuable and irresistible. So as I was going through this process, I selected prizes that were directly related to my niche and would genuinely excite my audience. For example, I have given away 10 tickets to my 3 day women in Business conference happening in October. People want to be there. We’re already sold. 70 over 70% sold out.

I’ve also given two tickets to my silent retreat that I’m running next week, which by the way is also now sold out. And I’m running another giveaway currently right at the moment, as we speak, for two lucky women in business to win a golden ticket each to my four day Women in Business retreat in Bali. All of these giveaways aligned perfectly with my brand, perfectly with me, perfectly with my values, but more importantly on also they have been in alignment with the interests of my followers, my niche.

So then next I plan to give away carefully. I set clear goals, AKA increasing my email list, boosting my social media visibility and ultimately driving revenue. I designed the giveaway way to encourage participants to take specific actions which in all of these giveaways, I’ve simply asked them to take one action which was join my email list. To make the entry process seamless, I used a dedicated landing page where participants could easily enter the information and complete the required actions. This landing page was crucial in capturing new leads and ensuring that participants were generally interested in my offerings, but also understood the legal terms and conditions with each giveaway, which is also important when you’re planning a giveaway. Next promotion was key. I used a multi channel approach to spread the word about the giveaway.

I announced it on my social media platforms and through my email list. The response has been phenomenal. We have had over 385 people sign up for my silent retreat giveaway and we have had over 100 people had signed up for to receive 10 tickets for my Women in Business conference and currently as of today, 88 people have signed up to win one of the two golden tickets to my Bali retreat. Keeping in mind that 88 might seem like a low number, but it’s only been live at time of recording for less than 24 hours now. Not only have I grown my email list for both my business consulting side of things, but also for my healing center side of things.

I’ve increased my visibility on social media which brought in a new way of followers who are genuinely and have been interested in my content. But the most exciting part, the boost in engagement and interaction with my brand has led to a noticeable increase in revenue. So why does this strategy work so well? First of all, value proposition Offering a prize that my audience has found valuable ensured high participation. It’s essential to choose a prize that aligns with your audience interests and your brand. Second thing, the reason why that this strategy has worked so well is clear goals. Defining what I want it to achieve with the giveaway helped in designing it effectively. So whether it’s growing your email list, boosting social media engagement, or increasing sales, having clear goals guides your overall strategy.

The third thing that works so well is that we had easy entry. Simply entering the process, simplifying the entry process, not simply simplifying the entry process encourages more participation. A dedicated landing page and straightforward instructions has made it super easy for people to join the giveaway. The third or fourth thing that has made it so easy is multichannel promotion. Leveraging multiple platforms to promote my giveaway has maximized its reach and the fifth thing, engagement Giveaways create excitement and engagement. They encourage participants to interact with your brand and increasing the chances of converting them into loyal customers. I should also note that yes, I increased my revenue via the items I was promoting in the giveaway, but now I also have their email list to send out quality content and to market to these amazing humans long after any of these giveaways are completed.

So if you’re looking at new ways to grow your email list, increase your visibility and increase your revenue, I encourage you to explore adding giveaways as part of your business strategy. Another cool thing that I used to do, I haven’t done it recently, but you can also team up with other people. So you might want to team up say with a copywriter, a web developer, a business coach, for example, a graphic designer. And each of you put something in and then you each have to share it and then you share as long as it’s very outlined in your terms and conditions. The email list will be shared with all participating businesses right now. Again, but they need to give consent for that to happen.
